ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY INCENTIVES PROGRAM
NOTICE 440-WI-2
This notice transmits policy changes to the EQIP program regarding the
processing of EQIP applications.
Filing Instructions: File this notice and the attachment in your EQIP Manual in
the front of the EQIP Manual.
National Bulletin 300-4-4 (attached) requires secondary review of all EQIP
application ranking lists. As a result, for EQIP signups held by Local Work
Groups at the county level, the NRCS Designated Conservationist will submit a
list of eligible EQIP applicants received by close of business on the last day
of an EQIP ranking period. This list should be in ranked order and must include
at a minimum the producer’s name, application score, and cost share funds
requested. This list should be submitted to the appropriate Assistant State
Conservationist for Field Operations (ASTC-O). The list should be submitted
within a reasonable time frame after the ranking period has closed, and in
consultation with the ASTC-O.
Upon receipt, the ASTC-O will review the list to ensure the information is
complete, applicants are shown in ranked order, and a cutoff line is indicated
showing the last application that can be funded with the allocation provided to
the county. Upon verification that the information is correct, the ASTC-O will
initial the ranking sheet and return an initialed copy to the Field Office of
origin for their records.
Statewide signup ranking lists are developed by the EQIP Coordinator and will be
reviewed and approved by the Assistant State Conservationist for Programs.
