Resource Concerns Addressed by EQIP

The resource concerns addressed by applications including waste storage facilities are Surface Water Quality-Animal Waste, Organics, and Pathogens (WS2); Surface Water Quality-Nutrients (WS1); and Ground Water Quality-Animal Waste, Organics, and Pathogens (WG2).  While other resource concerns eligible in Wisconsin may also be addressed under the waste storage application, in order to be eligible for the waste storage signup, land must have one of the three resource concerns listed above.

The scoring criteria for the waste storage signup are targeted specifically towards addressing these three resource concerns, and the efficiency with which waste storage will address those concerns.  The criteria takes into account not only the resource need at the site, but also the likelihood that providing public cost share dollars to address the resource concern will result in a positive environmental outcome.

For a complete list of resource concerns eligible in Wisconsin, see the following list.  County Local Work Groups were authorized to select resource concerns from this list that best fit local conditions.
