Resource Concerns Addressed by EQIP

The resource concerns to be addressed by Waste Storage are Water Quality-Excessive Nutrients and Organics in Groundwater and Surface Water, and Water Quality-Harmful Levels of Pathogens in Surface Water.   Resource concerns to be addressed by Alternative Waste Treatment Practices may include the same ones shown for Waste Storage, plus the following:  Air Quality-Excessive Greenhouse Gas or Objectionable Odors, and Soil Condition-Organic Matter Depletion.

Microsoft Excel Document.List of resource concerns to be addressed by applications for EQIP Waste Storage/Alternative Waste Treatment Practices.

While other resource concerns eligible in Wisconsin may also be addressed under the waste storage application, in order to be eligible for the waste storage signup, land must include one of these resource concerns.

The scoring criteria for the waste storage signup are targeted specifically towards addressing these three resource concerns, and the efficiency with which waste storage will address those concerns.  The criteria takes into account not only the resource need at the site, but also the likelihood that providing public cost share dollars to address the resource concern will result in a positive environmental outcome.
