National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA)
The National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) is a law that was passed by
Congress in 1969 and signed into law on January 1, 1970. Since that signing,
NEPA has changed the way the U.S. Government does business. NEPA has made
Federal agencies accountable to the public for the environmental impacts of
their actions. NRCS staff in Wisconsin are committed to ensuring NEPA
requirements are met.
