Energy Conservation and On-Farm Energy Production
NRCS will work to support the
sustainable production of
renewable energy sources on
Wisconsin farms, and will
encourage farmers to conserve
fuel and reduce green house
gases. In partnership with
the private sector and other
organizations, NRCS will develop
technical tools and
training to evaluate and reduce
agricultural energy consumption,
help producers adapt plants and
practices for better energy
efficiency, encourage on-farm
energy production and on-farm
energy conservation. More

Key Wisconsin Partners
- Resource Conservation and Development
Councils of Wisconsin (RC&D) Wisconsin has seven RC&D areas,
covering all Wisconsin counties. RC&D works as a catalyst to create new
opportunities, link people together, and promote economic develop through
sound use of natural resources. Wisconsin RC&Ds are working on all
bio-energy fronts, including wind power, bio-mass, bio-fuels, and methane.
- Wisconsin Office of Energy Independence
serves as a single-point of contact for citizens, businesses, local units of
government and non-governmental organizations pursuing bio-development, energy
efficiency, and energy independence. The office will also identify federal
funding opportunities and serve as the State Energy Office, working to
maintain federal designation and funding.
- Focus on Energy
works with eligible Wisconsin residents and businesses to install cost
effective energy efficiency and renewable energy projects. focus information,
resources and financial incentives help to implement projects that otherwise
would not get completed, or to complete projects sooner than scheduled. Its
efforts help Wisconsin residents and businesses manage rising energy costs,
promote in-state economic development, protect our environment and control the
state's growing demand for electricity and natural gas.

Wisconsin Farmers Union Carbon Credit Program
Wisconsin is approved to participate in Farmers Union's Carbon Credit Program,
which allows agricultural producers and landowners to earn income by storing
carbon in their soil through no-till crop production and long-term grass
seeding practices. Those who adopt land management practices that reduce or
offset carbon emissions can get paid for their efforts, creating a "win-win"
for all involved.

AgraGate is the aggregator for the
Wisconsin Farm Bureau carbon credit program.
